Celebrate ... and look up to the sky!

Hi there ... today I'm sharing a tag that I created for a gift bag ... and I thought I'd share it in the Paper Playtime Anything Goes Challenge.
A gift tag is a very easy way to spruce up a kraft gift bag and add that extra special touch!

I chose to play around with some different sized heart die cutes and layered  them with pop dots to create some dimension.

I love the fresh colours in this paper collection and also chose to add some stickles to the balloon rub-on to add some extra glitz!

Thanks for checking in today!

A sweet baby shower card ...

Today I am sharing a baby shower card that I created upon request by a friend/colleague of mine.  She had the wonderful idea to see if I could incorporate the ultrasound picture into the card ... and I enjoyed the challenge to do so.

As you can see, I used my heart punch to create the sweet heart cluster banner.  So I thought I'd share this at the Scrap It Girl's Get Punchy With It Challenge!

As you can see, I was able to incorporate a lot of various details in this card ... I especially like how the stitching around the ultrasound pic turned out, along with the baby banner across the bottom of the pic!

MEFY - Thursday Craft 'n Chat - Using Your Scraps!

Hello everyone ...  Today I am sharing a post that I created for Made Especially For You's Craft 'n Chat Thursday!

I am one of those scrappers that is always keeping every little bit of my scraps ... in fact, people are often giving me their scraps because they just don't know what to do with them!  I really enjoy the challenge of using up my scraps to make something wonderful ... I've even created cards with the barcodes that come on the various products I've bought (check it out here)!

So today I thought I'd share some simple ideas for ways that you can use your scraps to create some lovely cards!

Here is a sample of some of the scraps that I end up with after creating a layout or some cards. Now, most people I know would just throw these out ... but not me!

This card shows an example of how you can make use of any long strips that you have left over ... as you can see, I wrapped some twine around the strips and then used a left over sticker embellishment for my sentiment.

This gift card shows how I've used some wider & shorter strips to create the banners along the bottom half of the card.  In fact the cardstock used for this card was left over when I trimmed down a piece for a larger card ... don't forget that you can use your cardstock scraps to create cute little gift tags!

And finally ... when you are out of  strips of paper and you only seem to have random shaped pieces left, you can always use a tiny punch (like this butterfly punch) to create some embellishments.  I have even used tiny circle punches to create some fun cards with my scraps in the past too (check it out here).

Thanks for checking in today!
I hope that you've been inspired to craft with those scraps!

Pieces of my heart.

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a card that I created based on the following Love My Tapes sketch challenge.

And here is my take on the sketch!

I actually had the pleasure of using some tape from Love My Tapes (the pink & white stripes) ... it is great quality stuff ... and very fun to use :)

Thanks for checking in ... I hope you were inspired.

Getting Krafty ...

Hello my friends!

Little Red Wagon posted a challenge to use Kraft paper on your creations ... so I thought I'd share some cute little gift cards that I created with Jillibean products.

This thank you card is sweet and simple ... I like the bold impact of the half flower.

I like the eyelets on this one ...

I like the strips with varying punch patterns on this one ...

And I like the mixture of different patterns on this card!

The challenge this week is sponsored by Adams Acres ... and we have been challenged to create a card using heat embossing. One lucky winner of the challenge will get a $10 gift certificate to Adams Acres!

And this is my card!

As you can see, I used purple Zing to heat emboss the typewriter ... this is a fun stamp and die set that I got from My Favorite Things!

I even added a little extra embellishment to the bottom with some ribbon, a jewel brad and a fun star pin!

Thanks for checking in!

That's a Wrap ... final ScrapMuch? Card Class cards

Hello there!

I'm back with the last few cards that I designed for the card class held at the ScrapMuch? retreat back at the end of March.

This card is actually made from a Halloween paper collection.  I like the fact that I was able to create something completely non-Halloween with it!

This card is relatively straight forward ... but still has "impact" thanks to the fancy glittery paper.

This is a card that I was planning to include in the class ... but when I was kitting it, I accidentally cut some of the measuring tape strips wrong and didn't have enough extras!!!  (The measuring tapes are a vinyl type material)

Thanks for dropping in!
Check in tomorrow for some further inspiration!

ScrapMuch? Card Class

Welcome!

So, I just realized that I hadn't yet shared all of the cards that I designed for the card class held at the amazing ScrapMuch? retreat way back at the end of March.   So I'm going to share a few of them today ... as I'll be spending my day with my ScrapMuch? friends at a day crop today!

I liked this card because of it's unique shape.

I love the paper on this card ... there must be at least 8 different patterns :)  Good thing they all coordinate so well!

Another pretty card ... I love my butterfly cards!

I
was experimenting with my dies when I created this one ... I like the unusual shape and the contrast of the orange, blue and white colours!

Thanks again for stopping by!
Be sure to check in tomorrow for more creations.

ScrapMuch? Sketch-Y Friday Reveal

Happy Friday!

Yeah!!!  Time for another ScrapMuch? Sketch-Y Friday reveal!!!!

Check out ScrapMuch? for the challenge details ... basically you have the rest of June to play along and if you enter 2 challenges this month --- you'll be entered in a random drawing for an awesome scrappy prize!!

This week's sketch is another oh so lovely sketch by the wonderful Laura Whitaker.

I decided to rotate this sketch ... something that I do often if my photos that I want to scrap with are directionally challenged when compared to the original sketch.

I thought that these pictures of myself and my scrappy friend Anita were pretty funny ... so I decided to add a humourous touch to the layout and made use of some fun speech bubble stamps that I had on hand.

As you can see here, I chose to use my sew ribbon across the bottom of the photos for the scalloped accent.  It is sooo easy to use ;)

Thanks for checking in today!  Don't forget to head on over to the ScrapMuch? blog for challenge details!

You are so sweet!

Pretty cards ...

Hello there!

Today I am sharing 2 more cards that I created for some challenges!

This first card is based on the following Retro Sketches challenge:

As you can see, I kept the fun "randomness" of the sketch and made use of different textures to add dimension and make the card that little bit more "interesting".

I even managed to throw in a few cute heart ended straight pins!

The next card that I am sharing is based on the following I Spy Sketches challenge:

I slightly altered the sketch by putting the scalloped edge on the top ... I wish I could say that this was on purpose ... but I accidentally glued things on upside down before I realized!  Good thing there are no mistakes in scrapbooking :)

I chose to use this beautiful wooden butterfly and twine to add some dimension.  I also made good use of my sewing machine around the edges of the card.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Happy Birthday Boy Card & Ombre Accent Card

Hello!

Today I am sharing two card creations!

The first creation is a boy birthday card for the Little Red Wagon Boy B-Day challenge.

I created this card for my brother in law ... who is actually turning 30 something :)  You are never too old for space and robots!

I love this chipboard robot ... it totally makes me smile!

The next card that I created was for the ScrapFit ombre accent challenge.  You can see that the strips of paper along the back of the card are strategically placed such that they create an ombre effect (colours gradually flowing into each other).

I also chose to keep the accents in the same colour theme!

Made Especially For You Reveal Time! -- 3 Eyelet Card

Happy Monday!
I'm back today with another exciting Made Especially For You Designer Reveal!

The challenge this week is sponsored by Whimsical Designs ... one lucky participant will win a set of stamps!
This week we are being challenged to create a card with three eyelets!
This is my card ...

As you can see, I used 2 different sizes of eyelets and used them very similarly to how I might have used brads ...

I also used a brad / sunburst / straight pin cluster in the one corner to add that something extra!
Once again I've used my sewing machine for that extra touch.  I used 2 different colours of thread on this card ... gold and white!

Thanks for checking in today!

I can't wait to see what you create for this challenge ... don't forget to check out Made Especially For You to see what the other designers have created!

Birthday birds and some stitching ...

Hello!
I hope that everyone is having a good Father's Day weekend so far!

Today I am sharing a birthday card that I created with a bird for the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge!

As you can see, I stitched around the three background pieces ... an easy way to add that extra touch!

My Dad's The Greatest Blog Hop -- & a chance to win a prize from the Scrapping actuary!

Hello Friends!

Welcome to "My Dad's the Greatest Blog Hop".

Today we are honouring our Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, and Big Brothers... Whoever made a significant, loving mark in your life :)

Do you remember your father being so big in your eyes, that he could protect you from anything? He was the one who would barbecue or mow the grass. He would go off to work every day and come home tired and still make time to laugh and play. He didn't mind that every Father's Day, he got a tie or slippers. He was our protector!!

Today we have some wonderful, talented women who would like to show that their Dad is the Greatest! In case you get lost the hop starts at Pamela ~ http://kraftykatstampstudio.blogspot.com

We will have Blog Candy -- a fun stamp set from Tim Holtz “Life’s a Journey” to one lucky winner that leaves a comment on every blog.

And ... one lucky hopper who becomes a follower of my blog (or who is already a follower :) will win the following prize from me, the Scrapping Actuary!  (I'll be posting the winner of this on Tuesday!)

And for this hop today, I am going to share two Father's Day Cards that I have created.

My first card is here to prove that sparkly letters and ribbon can be masculine too!

I toned down the more feminine accents by using brass metallic accents.

And this card should prove that you can also use a flower on a masculine card!

This sticker from Authentique was originally set up using "brother" ... but I took advantage of the "father" sticker and made it work for my purposes!

Thanks for stopping by. Now I must send you over to Monica to see what fabulous project she has in store for you!
Don’t forget, to qualify for the grand prize, you must leave a comment on all the blogs in the hop.
Happy Hopping!!
(& thanks for stopping in!)
