Oh so many cards ...

Welcome!

Today I've got a few cards in store for you ...

The first card was created for the My Mind's Eye feminine/masculine challenge.  The challenge was to use something masculine on a feminine card (or vise versa).

I chose to create a masculine card but use jewels to embellish it (something that some men might argue is a little girly :)

This uses the MME Follow Your Heart collection ... very fun paper ... I loved the kites and just had to cut some out and pop them up for some extra dimension!

Card #2 that I am sharing today was created for the the Love to Create Challenge Blog's sentiment challenge and the Gingham challenge over at Moxie Fab World.

I used different shaped butterflies and a nice wooden button with a twine bow for that simple embellishment.  You'll also notice some subtle zig zag stitching around the top corners of the card.

And the final card for today was based on the following Sweet Sunday sketch:

And this is my take on the sketch:

I've used stitching and wide grey ribbon to add various textures ... and the sweet sentiment ("You are my sunshine") inspired my sun burst with a button in the centre.

Thanks for checking in today ... I hope you've been inspired!

Butterflies and Fudge ...

Hello!  Today I'm sharing two cards ...

The first card was created based on the following Authentique sketch:

This is my take on the sketch:

I chose to use the Gathering collection for this card.  I love the teals and browns and chose to use butterflies for the centre piece in my card ... accenting them with brass brads in the centre.

The next card that I am sharing today was created for the Love to Create Challenge Blog's sentiment challenge, the Celebrate the Occasion anything goes challenge and the Moxie Fab World Damask and Brocade challenge:

I love this Jillibean paper ... so fun (including the sentiment tag!!).  Once again I've used my sewing machine to add an extra accent and my three jewel signature has snuck it's way onto the card :)

Thanks for checking in today!

Fun cards!

Hello!

The first card that I am sharing today is being entered in the Love to Create Challenge Blog's sentiment challenge and was based on the following Authentique sketch challenge:

And this is my take on the sketch ...

I used the Authentique Celebrate collection to create the card ... I love all of the fun cardstock stickers and chose to use a bunch of them to create the centre embellishment.

The next card that I am sharing is inspired by Scrap It Girl's May Flower Challenge ...

I love the bright paper and the bright flowers ... I chose to use a matching brad in the centre of each flower to add that extra bling!

Thanks for checking in today!

Made Especially For You Reveal - Paper Piercing

Hello!  Today I'm sharing my designer reveal for this week's Made Especially For You challenge.

The challenge this week is sponsored by Adams Acres ... and we have been challenged to create a card using paper piercing.  One lucky winner of the challenge will get a $10 gift certificate to Adams Acres!

And this is my card!

As you can see, I pierced a border around the blue background shape and also pierced "trails" behind the birds.  This is a really easy technique to add that subtle extra effect to your card!

Thanks for checking in!

Don't forget to head over to the Made Especially For You blog to see the rest of the design team creations and to play along yourself!

Father's Day Tag ... and a Telephone!

Hello!

The first thing that I am sharing today is a gift tag that I created for the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Father's Day challenge!

I used some cute little tool die cuts and some ribbon to embellish!  I kept the colours masculine and simple.

I am also sharing a card that I created based on the following Deconstructed Sketch:

I am also entering this card in the Paper Playtime Friendship Card challenge -- this is my take on the sketch ...

I love the retro feel to this card ... my paper choices were really busy ... but who doesn't want a flower phone?

Thanks for checking in today!  I hope you've been inspired!

ScrapMuch? Sketch-Y Friday Reveal!

Happy Friday!

I'm here today to reveal a layout that I created based on the ScrapMuch? challenge for this week!

There is still time for you to create and enter any of the ScrapMuch? May challenges ... don't forget to check them out here!

Laura has designed another lovely sketch this week:

And this is my take on the sketch!
I was feeling inspired by the butterflies on Laura's sketch ... so I chose to continue the butterfly theme with my layout!

Once again, I've used different fonts to create an interesting title!

I added some subtle sewing in the corners and used jewel clusters in certain spots instead of only just butterflies.

Thanks for checking in!

I can't wait to see what you create --- go to ScrapMuch? to link up your entry ... you have until the end of May!

Cameras and Dress Forms ...

Hello my friends!

I'm sharing 2 cards today ...

The first card was created with the clean and simple polka dot challenge over at The Paper Players.

I used a die that I bought from My Favorite Things to create this stylin' camera ... the stamp that I used for the sentiment around the lens came with the set too!

The next card I am sharing was based on the following I Spy Sketches challenge:

And this is my take on the sketch:

I enjoyed using this Authentique paper from their Blissful collection and found the perfect Maya Road dress form paperclip to add that fancy bit of embellishment!

Thanks for stopping in today!

My Cuban Experience ... plus a baby shower card!

Hello!

I'm sharing both a layout and a card today folks!

The layout that I created is based on the following lovely Creative Scrappers sketch ... and I'm also entering it in the Frosted Design Quilting Challenge ... as I've used my sewing machine to "quilt" all around the photos.

This is my take on the sketch ...
I chose to document a few photos from a day trip to Havana that I took when I visited Cuba a number of years ago.

The quilting is nice and subtle ... I sewed all of the pictures down like they were patches and sewed around the background photo mat and then around again and then across the mini alphas ... lots and lots of sewing!

Now onto a card that I created for the Friday Mashup decorative edge and ribbon card challenge!

I used my scallop punch to edge the bottom of the card.

I used some bright green ribbon to add that extra colour and bring out the green in the cute gators in the paper!

Thanks for checking in!

Sweet Card and Gift Tag!

Hello everyone!

Today I'm sharing a card and a gift tag :)

CAS-ual Fridays posted a challenge to "get punchy" and use your paper punches ... and Retro Sketches posted the following amazing sketch ... so I thought I'd play along!

I chose to create an "earthy" card ... and popped up the various leaves and the tree trunk for some dimension.

I kept the ribbon simple and instead of a bow ... chose to attach my sentiment in that spot with a matching brad.

Now onto the gift tag!!!

Love My Tapes posted a Birthday Challenge ... so I thought I'd share the gift tag that I had just created for my younger sister's birthday!

The little gift box was the perfect container for a gift card ... and my sister will definitely be able to re-use the box and tag for someone else!

Thanks for stopping in today!

Made Especially For You Reveal - 3 BRADS!!!

Hello ... I'm here with my designer reveal for this week's Made Especially For You Challenge!

If you play along with the challenge this week, you'll have a chance to win a sweet $20 gift card to Scraptastical Kreations!

This week we are challenged to create a card with 3 brads!
I often use 3 brads or 3 jewels in a row as a finishing touch on my cards ... so I thought I'd create a card showcasing this effect.  As you can see, the focus of my card is the "adore" banner ... and I have used the three pink pearl brads to add that extra elegance!

I used a die cut to create the pink flourish at the top and used a border punch to create the lacy effect along the bottom of the polka dot paper.  Layering two strips with the same punch and slightly curling up the layers can create a nice ruffle effect!

Thanks again for stopping in!  Don't forget to head over to Made Especially For You to check out the challenge details and the other designer's work!  I'm excited to see what you will create!
